Praying the Scriptures, Mary Reimer
Saturday, 11am-12noon
How is the Word of God speaking to you, here and now? Many Christians struggle to experience the Word of God as “living and active”- speaking clearly into our lives as we make ourselves available. Our lives often do not welcome stillness or silence into them. This workshop provides a way of being present to the Living Word of God through the ancient practice of Lectio Divina. We will look at the definition, historical development, forms, and gifts of this practice with the purpose of equipping participants, individually and as a group, to enjoy a refreshing and renewing way of reading scripture. ”The Word of God is living and active: it probes the thoughts and motives of our heart.” Hebrews 4:12

Carol and Lloyd will share from their experience of leading international intercession trips and welcome interaction and discussion around the topic.
Prayer in our Journey of Suffering, Fred Stoesz
Saturday, 11am-12noon
How can we be supported in prayer as we experience pain and suffering? How can we support others that are experiencing pain and suffering? Fred will share lessons learned from his own encounter with suffering. During his battle with cancer Fred and Jolene have discovered that in our journey through suffering we need praying people journeying with us. Those in pain need the earnest intercessions of others. This workshop will help us understand how to pray for people in their journey of suffering.
